Welcome to Carte Blanche, where our creative talents’ minds run free. This month, we’re showcasing some wild explorations around one very simple object: the Buzz logo.

Creation is all about exploration. That’s actually the whole idea behind our Carte Blanche series: to bring out the artist within us. And what better playground for our creatives than our very own brand identity? Our “iconic B” logo may still be very fresh (we released it in October), it’s already going places. Here are 6 interpretations. Who knew a double B could be so versatile?

#1– The Graphic Series, Olivier Vinet, Associate Creative Director

“The whole idea behind our rebranding was to create a dynamic, agile identity, with one main quality: playfulness. We have a whole “Open Canvas” approach to our brand, which means we want our logo to be seen as an invitation to transform it. In this Graphic Series, the idea was to stretch the icon’s lines

#2– Transparency, Bertrand Carrara, Creative Director

“3D, transparency, fonts… Carte Blanche means we can go wherever we feel like it right? I like the modern twist this image gives. Sometimes making the logo bigger isn’t the answer. Make it transparent for it to really stand out!”

#3– Buzz Infinity, Shams Abou El Enein, Film Director

“The more our company grows, the more multifaceted it becomes. With 3D, I’m bringing the logo into a new dimension, playing with optical illusions. The iconic B turns into a many-angled object and when the stars align, you’ll see the light shine through it!

I played with 2 versions of this, one with more density, which is very geometrical and monolithic, and a second where I tried to remove as much matter as I could while still keeping the logo’s optical illusion.

The next step? To 3D print it of course. From digital to real life.”

#4– B Brain, Manuel Kern, Creative Director

“Who knows where some ideas come from? Did you expect to see the iconic B turning into a brain? Hopefully you weren’t. Sometimes creativity is about surprise. It’s also a lot about humor. So I had some fun with that”

#5– Stickers, Bertrand Carrara, Creative Director and Olivier Vinet, Associate Creative Director

“What if we went beyond the B? The intention here is to put a smile on the viewer’s face. What we’re actually doing is translate the cheerful and tongue in cheek attitude we love at the office. This is exactly the type of “distortion” the iconic B was made for. This is what makes our brand belong to our everyday (pop) culture.”

#6– Flex logo, Jean Colliard, Creative Director

“Creation is a process, right? And one of the most fun parts are the first drafts, the “croquis”. Here are some of mine, twisting and bending the iconic B. The idea for the first test is pretty clear: Buzz is much more than just a logo, it is a collective of creative people. As for the second, we’re all about agility too. ;)”
