Behind the scenes: our partnership with SINGA Switzerland

It all started with an opportunity from BuzzBrothers Brand Lead and SINGA Switzerland board member Amandine R.: “How would Buzz experts feel about organizing a 3-course series on branding and communications for the batch of future entrepreneurs from the SINGA Incubator?”. The answer was of course: very keen. After all, boosting interactions is part of our DNA — our experts needed no convincing. But they all had one condition: “we have to make these workshops super impactful if we want them to be useful”.

So how did they do that?

From our experience, there’s nothing worse than sitting through a 4-hour long theoretical presentation. So we crafted a super diverse 3-steps series, with key learning points and as many practical, hands-on exercises as possible for every participant to put the theory into practice. And since we were hosting, of course we infused a bit of our Buzz Charm into each of the workshops. What’s the Buzz Charm? Well, it’s our 4th value and our secret sauce: everything we do is fueled by fun, optimism and joy!

So what were these workshops all about?

Who said learning can’t be fun?

1. Branding

Starting with a workshop about branding seemed obvious. Defining your branding allows you to articulate your purpose and explain the reason your business exists. After an introduction on examples of well known brands, we introduced BuzzBrothers’ very own branding canvas, highlighting key areas of the brand identity: brand purpose, origins, personality, deal partner and brand philosophy.

At the end of the session, all 10 participants of the SINGA Incubator went home with a clear definition of what their brand stood for. The first step was completed.

2. Storytelling

Everybody loves a good story, right? And yet, mastering compelling storytelling isn’t easy to achieve. In this workshop, we wanted the SINGA Incubator participants to grasp the power of stories, and understand how great messaging can help create an emotional connection with their audiences. After showing epic examples of effective storytelling, we introduced the secret recipe of any successful storytelling: tone of voice, key messages and a clear structure — or story canva. The idea started sticking.

Exactly like professional screenwriters, our 10 promising future entrepreneurs from SINGA left the workshop with their brand story framework. They were ready for the final step.

3. Social Media and Amplification

After articulating their brand platform and mastering a compelling narrative to tell it to the world, the final step was to find the best tools to reach their audiences… and there are plenty! In this last workshop, our experts started by giving a quick communications crash course before presenting the different channels, from social media to word of mouth. To us, the most important part is to select a platform that makes sense to your project, including the financial aspect! Once selected, you can start thinking about the content you wish to push and how to amplify it. The perks of having experts dealing with these questions with big brands every day? They certainly have a strong sense of what to do, and what to avoid at all costs!

And so ended our 3-steps brand and communications programme! What a blast. We’re confident that the 2022 SINGA Incubator participants are now armed with solid content to kick start their entrepreneurial journey. We can’t wait to follow their adventures and wish them nothing but the best for what’s ahead.
